Water solenoid valves

Water solenoid valves are devices whose operation allows the passage of a fluid (liquid or gas) through the gap identified by the valve itself. The solenoid valve is actuated by an actuator (which traditionally was a human operator or a prearranged mechanical gearbox) that is electrically controlled (usually a solenoid).

Although the solenoid valve is functionally similar to an electrically controlled faucet, its operation differs substantially from that of an ordinary valve.

In fact, the simplest solenoid valve consists of a mechanical opening and closing device very similar to a diaphragm, which is raised or lowered to vary the pressure within the chambers of the device that then allow the escape or retention of the fluid introduced. This diaphragm is actuated by a solenoid, which, when current flows through it, attracts a ferrous core within an internal channel, thereby causing the mechanical displacement of the occluding element of the device, and thus the opening or closing of the solenoid valve. As the solenoid valve opens, the "diaphragm" rises and allows the fluid to branch into the ducts (broadly speaking) that are downstream of it, the upstream section being where the highest pressure exists.

Such simple solenoid valves can be actuated by direct or alternating current.

Each solenoid valve is classified according to the following characteristics:

- the arrangement of the internal conduits (ways and positions)

- the type of power supply (DC, AC)

- the balance conditions (monostable, bistable)

- the operating pressures at the input (minimum and maximum).

The indication of the number of ways (connection ports) and positions (end states of the outputs) is regulated by DIN ISO 1219 standards.

A monostable sol enoid valve has an equilibrium position that corresponds to the rest position, i.e., not energized. When energized, it activates; when the power fails, it returns to the rest position.

A bistable solenoid valve has two solenoids, each with its own power supply. The equilibrium position is the last one reached. To change positions, the solenoid corresponding to the other position must be fed briefly. If both supplies are turned on, or neither, the state of the valve does not change.

In addition to solenoid-operated solenoid valves, there are also other types of actuated solenoid valves, the action of which can be progressive.

Special case of solenoid valves are those used in engines with electronic fuel injection, where an electronic control unit opens and closes for very short times (milliseconds) the flow of fuel into the engine cylinders, depending on the need for use.

In this section you will find all solenoid valves and coils marketed by Comid.

Line filters

Line filters are essential components for ensuring the proper functioning of hydraulic, thermal, and industrial systems. Their main function is to retain impurities and solid particles, thereby protecting the systems from potential damage and optimizing their performance.

Types of Line Filters Available

Bottom Filters

These filters are designed to be installed at the base of pipelines or tanks. Ideal for water treatment, they provide effective filtration, preventing solid residues from compromising system functionality. Bottom filters are particularly suitable for agricultural and industrial applications.

Cast Iron Y-Filters

Cast iron Y-filters offer high mechanical resistance and are perfect for applications requiring robustness and durability. They are widely used in hydraulic and thermal systems to retain solid particles and protect valves, pumps, and other sensitive components. Thanks to their cast iron construction, they can withstand high pressures and demanding operating conditions.

Brass Y-Filters

Brass Y-filters are a compact and versatile solution, ideal for domestic and light applications. They offer excellent corrosion resistance and are particularly suitable for use with drinking water and civil systems. Their lightweight and handy structure makes them easy to install and maintain.

Advantages of Line Filters

Protection: safeguard system components from damage caused by impurities.
Durability: help extend the lifespan of systems.
Efficiency: ensure optimal operation and reduce maintenance costs.
Versatility: available in various types and materials to meet all application needs.

Why Choose Our Line Filters?

We offer a complete range of high-quality line filters, designed to meet the needs of any system. Whether you are looking for a solution for industrial, civil, or agricultural applications, our filters guarantee reliable and long-lasting performance.

Ball valves

The ball valve (in English ball valve) is the most common and widely used type of device for intercepting a flow in hydraulic pipelines. Its operation is based on the 90° rotation of a spherical plug equipped with a cylindrical cavity coaxial to the flow. The valve allows the closing, opening and reducing of the flow

Check valves

In this section you will find our range of check valves: clapet, ball, venturi nozzle, foot, europa, valstop, unival, wafer check valves, etc.

What it is.

A check valve (also called a check valve) is a one-way valve that allows water flow to flow in one direction.

Check valves are devices that by means of a closing element (a clapet, ball, plate etc..) stop, sometimes also assisted by a return spring, the backflow of liquid within the pipeline or more generally in the system. The mechanism operated by the check valve makes it possible to prevent and avoid possible contamination or leakage of liquids that could prove harmful in some cases.

Generally, these valves consist of a plug (either disc or ball, as appropriate), controlled by a guide and pushed against a seat through a specific spring. When the water pressure is absent (or insufficient), the valve remains closed: the passage of water occurs only under the conditions when the system pressure increases. In this case the pressure is able to overcome the spring force, allowing the fluid to pass.
There are many types of unidirectional valves, each model is suitable to fulfill a specific need, and the fields of application in which they are used are different. Thus there are clapet or swing valves, ball, Venturi nozzle, foot, europa, valstop, unival, wafer, butterfly, diaphragm and many others.

Check valves are routinely used in plumbing and aqueduct contexts, where they are mounted on the delivery lines of pumps, thus allowing the direction of water flow to be managed and regulated, preventing it from returning (precisely: check valve). In addition, they prevent the system from emptying in the event of a failure of the pump
Normally in check valves the element responsible for closing the flow of fluid is "guided," so as to have greater precision. The element remains in the closed position as long as there is a lack of positive pressure to cause the valve to open. Likewise it comes to a close at the time when adequate negative pressure is present.

Cast iron and brass gate valves

Gate valve (gate valve) is a valve in which the plug is a gate valve. It can be straight section (guillotine) or inclined section (wedge) depending on whether it is used at high or low flow rates, respectively. It is always used as a shut-off valve; however, it is not suitable as a control valve. In fact, the plug causes strong turbulence in the flow and consequently rapid erosion of the sealing parts, as well as noisy and undesirable vibrations when closing.

Butterfly valves

A butterfly valve is a valve in which the plug is a disc that rotates about an axis normal to that of the pipe, obstructing the passage. It can be used as a regulating valve, as in the case of the air line of the spark ignition engine, where it is drilled to ensure a minimum flow rate, or even simply as a shut-off valve.

Initiated flow valves

Flow-start valves are an advanced technical solution for flow control and regulation in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Designed to ensure high performance and reliability, these valves are used in a wide range of industrial and civil applications.

Main Features of Flow-Start Valves
